La Universidad de Celaya en el marco de su programa «Leading Women» que integra proyectos como mujeres emprendedoras, Niñas STEM Sí Pueden, becas internacionales para mujeres, entre otros, lanza la convocatoria «WE MEAN, Mujeres que inspiran» a través de la cual se plasma la perspectiva de las mujeres como pilar fundamental en todas las esferas sociales, así como el impacto de su labor en el crecimiento y progreso del mundo.
Esta edición tuvo como objetivo dar a conocer trayectorias e historias de éxito e impacto positivo de las mujeres de nuestra comunidad educativa, es decir, de estudiantes, niñas STEAM, docentes, colaboradoras, participantes del programa «Mujeres emprendedoras» y egresadas.
La intención es que nuestros alumnos indaguen sobre historias inspiradoras en las que ellas sean protagonistas. Fruto de ello, se reconocen los 3 primeros lugares en la categoría «blog» que se mencionan a continuación:

Sí, estaba al tanto.
At what point and why did you start thinking about applying for a scholarship and studying in another country?
Desde que entré a preparatoria, siempre había sido mi sueño ir a estudiar a otro país, pero no había tenido la oportunidad. En cuanto llegué a 4to semestre en la carrera estuve esperando el mejor momento para aplicar y cumplir ese sueño.
Why did you decide to study in that country?
Porque de las opciones disponibles en el momento era la que más me gustaba, además de las experiencias que me compartió una amiga que también fue a la Pontificia Bolivariana.
How was the scholarship application process?
Muy sencillo.
How did you prepare for this new experience?
Hablé con personas que habían ido de intercambio a Colombia en semestres pasados y personas que viven allá para que me dieran una idea y pasaran tips, pero como fui a un país de Latinoamérica no tuve que prepararme con cosas como el idioma o para una cultura demasiado diferente a la nuestra, por lo que mi única preparación fue tramitar todos los documentos para viajar y tener lo necesario para mi llegada.
How did you feel when you arrived in the new country?
Emoción y algo de miedo ya que era mi primera vez viajando y viviendo sola.
How have you been received at the university where you arrived?
Muy bien, tanto docentes, personal y alumnos.
What do you miss the most about Mexico and UNI?
Mis amigos, familia, y la comida.
What is the most exciting thing you have experienced so far in this experience? And the most difficult? Podría decir que todo fue muy emocionante, cada experiencia nueva, cada persona que conocía y cada lugar que visitaba. Lo más complicado fue la convivencia con las personas con las que me tocó vivir, y aprender a ser independiente.
How do you think this experience will influence you as a person and professionally? Mucho. Siento que esta experiencia me hizo mejorar como persona, darme cuenta de lo que soy capaz; me ayudó a conocerme mejor y abrir mi mente a diferentes formas de ver la vida. En cuanto lo profesional, me encantó el programa académico y las clases que tomé, me llamó mucho la atención una materia en particular por lo que puedo considerarlo como una opción para lo que me quiero dedicar al graduarme.
What advice would you give to those who are about to go on exchange to another country? Disfruta al máximo todo lo que vivas, aprende de todas las experiencias, atrévete a hacer cosas fuera de tu zona de confort, conoce un poco a las personas con las que vivirás antes de irte y establezcan límites para evitar problemas en un futuro. Forma parte de las actividades que organice la Uni para que conozcas gente local e internacional. Si te es posible, viaja y conoce más del país.

Desde que entré tenía muy presente la idea de que quería irme a hacer un semestre fuera del país para aprender sobre otras culturas y abrir mi panorama profesional; por lo que, en cuanto tuve la oportunidad, apliqué.
Why did you decide to study in that country?
Porque es uno de los países más avanzados en nutrición y los paisajes son muy diferentes a los que tenemos en México.
How was the scholarship application process?
Fue muy sencillo. Realmente los documentos que te piden para aplicar no son difíciles de conseguir o de hacer; además, siempre tuve mucho apoyo por parte de la universidad para resolver mis dudas.
How did you prepare for this new experience?
Comencé a buscar más información sobre el país por mi cuenta y me reuní con compañeras que ya habían vivido esta experiencia en Chile para que me dieran recomendaciones y me ayudaran con mis dudas.
How did you feel when you arrived in the new country?
Me sentí muy acogida por la gente de allá y muy emocionada al ver paisajes tan bonitos.
How have you been received at the university where you arrived?
Nos recibieron a todos los de intercambio con una bienvenida con muchas actividades y regalos; además de que la directora de Nutrición de allá me recibió personalmente para guiarme durante todo el semestre.
¿Qué es lo que más extrañaste de México y de la UNI?
Food.
What is the most exciting thing you have experienced so far in this experience? And the most difficult? Lo más emocionante fue tener la oportunidad de viajar y conocer tantos lugares con mis amigas; además de poder explotar mis habilidades profesionales al máximo al hacer una tesis allá y presentarla en un congreso de investigación, asistir a un congreso internacional y tomar materias que no se imparten aquí.
Por otro lado, lo más difícil fue enfrentarme a una metodología de enseñanza tan avanzada y a información tan impactante y actualizada sobre mi carrera.
How do you think this experience will influence you as a person and professionally?
Sin duda, esta experiencia influyó positivamente en mi tanto personal, como profesionalmente.
En el ámbito profesional, me ayudó a ver que existen muchas más cosas de las que los nutriólogos normalmente hacemos aquí en México; y en el ámbito personal, me ayudó a ser más independiente y a hacer muchas buenas amistades.
What advice would you give to those who are about to go on exchange to another country? Que investiguen y pregunten todo lo que puedan sobre el país al que van para que disfruten al máximo y que realmente aprovechen la escuela porque pueden encontrar cosas muy interesantes.

When you entered Uni, did you know there were international programs?
Sí, sabía que había programas de internacionalización, sin embargo, no sabía cómo funcionaba, y en el tiempo que entre era pandemia por lo tanto deje de prestarle atención debido a que no había, pero aun así seguí enriqueciendo mi currículo académico, participando en todo lo que podía.
At what point and why did you start thinking about applying for a scholarship and studying in another country?
Cuando iba en quinto semestre comencé a aplicar ya que contaba por fin con los créditos necesarios para participar en la convocatoria.
Why did you decide to study in that country?
Decidí estudiar en Corea del Sur, porque quería un desafío para mí, tanto en lo académico como personal, y el estar al otro lado del mundo me parecía algo único, además escuche de las experiencias de los estudiantes que habían ido y parecía increíble, pero sobre todo sabía que me ayudaría mucho para mi vida profesional.
How was the scholarship application process?
Fue muy sencillo simplemente llené el formato de la convocatoria y lo mandé, pero lo más importante es todo lo que has hecho en tu vida universitaria, recuerda siempre participar en todos los eventos que puedas de la universidad.
How did you prepare for this new experience?
Saber las cosas básicas sobre la cultura, pero sobre todo ir con la mente abierta, estas a punto de explorar una cultura y sociedad totalmente diferente a lo que conoces, por lo que uno se debe adaptar y aprender, tanto de las costumbres como del idioma.
How did you feel when you arrived in the new country?
Emoción, nervios y algo asustada, era algo totalmente nuevo, con un idioma que no entendía, pero, muy feliz por estar en donde había soñado y a punto de empezar una gran aventura, lo bueno es que no iba totalmente sola, iba con mis compañeras de la universidad, ahora mis amigas y juntas comenzamos esta gran experiencia.
How have you been received at the university where you arrived?
Me recibieron con los brazos abiertos, son muy amables y siempre vas acompañada en todo el proceso, así como en tu estadía.
What do you miss the most about Mexico and UNI? La comida sin duda alguna, pero acá tienen unos platillos exquisitos también. A mis amigos y familia, pero una de las facilidades de la tecnología es el poder hacer videollamada con ellos, sin embargo creo que si se tiene que tomar en consideración el poder estar tanto tiempo separado de tu zona de confort, creo es parte de la preparación, el evaluarte a ti mismo y saber si eres capaz de irte mucho tiempo de tu casa y separarte de lo que conoces.
What is the most exciting thing you have experienced so far in this experience? And the most difficult? Todo ha sido muy emocionante, no hay momento que no me haya gustado, ha sido increíble, conocer a personas increíbles, los lugares nuevos que son únicos, las experiencias junto con su cultura, lo ha hecho increíble, y el viajar con los amigos que haces, es simplemente increíble.
How do you think this experience will influence you as a person and professionally? Esta experiencia te hace mas independiente, ahora tu te debes hacer cargo de ti mismo, de tus finanzas y de tus estudios, pero sobre todo el recolectar experiencia de otras culturas, de otros países y tomar lo mejor para ser mejor persona y en el ámbito profesional. Y a las clases sacarles todo el provecho, porque todo te servirá en un futuro, aunque no lo creas.
What advice would you give to those who are about to go on exchange to another country? Ve con la mente abierta, adéntrate en lo nuevo y sal de tu zona de confort, te puedo asegurar que valdrá totalmente la pena, y prepárate para conocerte a ti mismo, bienvenido al mundo de la independencia, pero sobre todo disfruta de cada momento, sea donde sea que te vayas será de lo mejor que te pasará.
Would you recommend these opportunities offered by UNI to your colleagues?
Sí, de no haber sido por la beca de internacionalización no habría podido vivir esta increíble experiencia, sin duda jamás me imaginé viviendo en Corea del Sur y fue de lo mejor. Aprovecha cada oportunidad y lucha por tus sueños, este tipo de oportunidades te ayudan a cumplir esos sueños.

Porque se me hacia un país muy increíble y mágico, casi de ensueño por las películas que había visto desde pequeña.

Un poco cansado, pero valió la pena.

Mejorando mis niveles de inglés y llevando el proceso con tiempo y paso a paso.
How did you feel when you arrived in the new country?
Mucha emoción y nervios al mismo tiempo de saber que iba a estar lejos de mi familia y de no saber cómo me iba a recibir la gente de la nueva escuela, pero mucha felicidad de ver cumplirse uno de mis sueños.

Bien, los maestros son increíbles y comprensivos y es increíble conocer más personas que son completamente diferente a ti.
What do you miss the most about Mexico and UNI?
Extraño la comida y a la gente en general, su amabilidad y la calidez que nos caracteriza a los mexicanos, porque obviamente son culturas completamente diferentes a las que yo acostumbraba, extraño el clima también a pesar de que aquí estoy viviendo una experiencia indescriptible al ver nevar, el otoño e incluso las lluvias.
What is the most exciting thing you have experienced so far in this experience? And the most difficult?
Lo mas emocionante conocer nuevas personas y conocer diferentes culturas, tradiciones y estilos de vida. Lo más difícil pues ha sido acostumbrarme a todo lo nuevo y estar tan lejos de mi familia y amigos.
How do you think this experience will influence you as a person and professionally?
Como persona, no volveré a ver todo como antes y siempre buscare nuevos horizontes que me ayuden a salir de mi zona de confort, y en mi ámbito profesional espero me ayude a encontrar muchas mas oportunidades laborales.
What advice would you give to those who are about to go on exchange to another country? Aprendan algún idioma diferente a su primera lengua y no duden nunca en vivir experiencias que los hagan crecer como personas.

En sexto semestre vi la convocatoria de la beca y aplique porque siempre había querido hacer un intercambio para conocer nuevas culturas, nuevas tradiciones y poder desarrollar mi habilidad de adaptarme a nuevas situaciones y culturas.
Why did you decide to study in that country?
Porque conocí a una persona de este país y me contó muchísimo como era vivir allá, me agrado desde ese momento el país y quise irlo a vivir personalmente.
How was the scholarship application process?
Fue fácil creo yo porque tuvimos mucho apoyo del departamento de internacionalización, muchas veces se sintieron nervios pues estaba a la espera de ser aceptada por la universidad, pero fue muy emocionante todo el proceso.

Muy emocionada y con la incertidumbre de como sería esta nueva etapa de mi vida.

Muy bien, fueron personas muy lindas y amables, siempre me hicieron sentir querida y como en familia.

What is the most exciting thing you have experienced so far in this experience? And the most difficult? Lo más emocionante fue encontrar nuevas amistades y aprender a moverme por toda la ciudad, solo un poco difícil fue aprender a administrarme en todos los sentidos.

En la manera de relacionarme con personas de otros países, la manera de adaptarme a nuevas situaciones, en el ámbito profesional que se me abrieron nuevas redes de oportunidades.
What advice would you give to those who are about to go on exchange to another country? Investigar previamente al país que quieren irse para tener información previa de como es el país, su cultura y estar abierto a nuevas cosas y costumbres.

Sí, porque cambia la perspectiva que tenemos y nos abre nuevos caminos a nuestros planes de vida.
