The School of Architecture received the invitation of M. Arq. José Luis Alvarez Tinajero, Director of NODE a creative nexus, progressive and parametric architecture firm, with presence in New York, Mexico City and Brussels. NODE in the eighth edition of its project BIO.series, is honored to present Bjarke Ingels founder of BIGBjarke Ingels Group, in Mexico City, with the intention of honoring the trajectory of one of the most innovative and important architectural offices today.
Our architecture students will have the opportunity to attend Bjarke Ingels ' Keynote Lecture on April 8, where he will receive the National 'KALMANANI' Award (which means Master Architect in Nahuatl, the ancient language of the Aztec Empire). NODE has been a promoter of progressive architecture in Mexico and has brought together professionals of international stature to share his ideology and trajectory, becoming an inspiration for Mexican architects.

As part of the inter-institutional collaboration that was experienced in UNIChallenge, today December 3, 2018, two proposals for solutions to academic challenges linked to real issues as well as to the Sustainable Development Goals were presented. The themes were Land Mobility and Decent Housing.

As part of the social commitment of the University of Celaya to solve problems in our environment and contribute to common progress, UNIChallenge starts again on Monday, October 29, a program where young people and teachers from various universities will test all their talent and knowledge to give a creative and innovative response to the following challenges:
- High rate of youth unemployment (encourage the increase of youth employment in the region). Topic chosen by Universidad La Salle Noroeste; Obregón, Sonora.
- Land mobility (to promote improvements in land mobility taking into account the logistic routes of the region). Topic chosen by the University of Celaya; Celaya, Guanajuato.
- Lack of access to decent housing (planning, design and implementation of low-income housing). Topic chosen by La Salle University, Bajío; León, Guanajuato.
Teams will be working on the first in two phases from October 29 through November 23 and the winners will be announced on November 30, 2018.

"Within the framework of the III INTERNATIONAL Congress of Research in Competitiveness, Sustainability and International Relations of the Radar Network that took place in: Universidad EAN Bogotá, Colombia."
During the week of October 1 to 7, our Global Business students participated in the 3rd Radar Network's seedbed meeting, where they won 2nd place in the research poster contest and 1st place in the Market Place business simulator contest.

Members of the Confederación Patronal de la República Mexicana (Coparmex) signed a collaboration agreement with the Universidad de Celaya to work together on projects that benefit both students and companies in areas such as innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership, challenge solving, training, global vision, among others.
This agreement was signed on August 19 by Dr. Moisés Mendoza Escobar, Vice Rector of the University of Celaya and Juan Yúdico Herrasti, president of Coparmex Celaya Laja-Bajío during the Coparmex meeting with the elected councilors of the 2018-2021 City Council.
