Prototype human-powered vehicle competing in Rio de Janeiro.

A group of 14 students representing the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Celaya participated from July 27 to 29 in the international competition of Human Traction Vehicles organized by ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

HPVC Human Powered Vehicle Challenge is a competition that tests the design and innovation capacity of engineering students, applied to the development of sustainable mobility alternatives such as human powered vehicles (HPVs). It is established by the Human Powered Vehicle Challenge Committee of ASME International.

2018 will be the third consecutive year that a team from the University of Celaya has participated in this competition, where young people must to conceive, design, manufacture and evaluate a human-powered vehicle, capable of running on different surfaces (rough, smooth, steep and wet), and that above all provides safety and comfort to the driver, always considering high standards of quality, reliability and innovation.
