I learned a lot, it is an incomparable experience.

When you entered Uni did you know there were international programs?

Yes, I entered the Uni since high school and since then I started to investigate about the exchanges that the Uni offers, but when I started my career I took it more important, since I wanted to do a semester abroad.

Did you think you would go to live and study abroad in your first semesters?

I had hoped and wished very much that it would, but I never thought that it would come true.

Have you ever lived or studied outside of Mexico before?

I was studying English for a month in Canada, also for the Uni.

What prompted or motivated you to study in another country?

I am a person who sets goals and I have always liked to know other countries, as well as other cultures; so I made it my goal to win that scholarship and I did it.

It wasn't easy, but that made it all the more worthwhile.

Why did you decide to study in that country?

Because I was always interested in getting to know Colombia, its people, its culture and also to know the relationship it has with our country, since in my career; international commerce, they have a lot of commercial relations.

How did you feel when you arrived in the new country?

I felt very nervous but at the same time very excited about the experience I was about to live, I knew it would not be easy but I wanted to face this challenge.

How have you been received at the university where you arrived?

They were very kind from the first day we arrived in Colombia, they went to pick us up at the airport and from there they helped us with everything we needed.

What did you miss most about Mexico?

What I missed most about Mexico was clearly my family, as I am very attached to them, and the food, the food in Mexico is incomparable.

What about the Uni?

To my friends and the campus, because where I studied the facilities were different.

What is the most exciting thing you have experienced so far in this experience?

The most exciting thing was the fact that I was literally traveling almost alone and being able to face that and get to know different cities in Colombia, its music, its food, its culture in general and its people.

And the hardest part?

The most difficult thing was adapting to the classes, since they are very different from Uni, the students, the teachers and the way of teaching are very different.

What do you expect as a person and as a professional from this program?

I hope this will serve me in my professional career and in my personal life in general, since all the learning I got from the exchange made me see things in a very different way, it made me get out of my comfort zone and realize that not everything in life is easy, that there are times when you lose and you should know how to see that as an opportunity for growth.

I also learned a lot of things in relation to my career, I had the opportunity to make a trip to the different ports (the main ones) of Colombia and that opened my perspective towards what I want to do in the future.

Do you recommend these opportunities provided by Uni to your colleagues?

Of course, I recommend it 100% because it is an unparalleled experience and I know that it is very useful for the growth of the person.

Mi experiencia en Chile

Mi experiencia en Chile

When you entered Uni did you know there were international programs?

Did you think you would go live and study abroad in your first semester?

Have you ever lived or studied outside of Mexico before?

No, esta es la primera vez

What prompted or motivated you to study in another country?

Why did you decide to study in that country?

How did you feel when you arrived in the new country?

How have you been received at the university where you arrived?

What will you miss most about Mexico?

What about the Uni?

What is the most exciting thing you have experienced so far in this experience?

And the hardest part?

What do you expect as a person and as a professional from this program?

Do you recommend these opportunities provided by Uni to your colleagues?

Studying in a foreign country radically changes your way of thinking.

When you entered Uni did you know there were international programs?

Yes, in fact that's what convinced me to stay in college.

Did you think you would go live and study abroad in your first semester?

Yes, I had plans to go on exchange but I didn't imagine I would make it.

Have you ever lived or studied outside of Mexico before?

I have never lived outside of Mexico before, this is the first time I am far away from my family, my culture and everything I was used to.

What prompted or motivated you to study in another country?

Studying in another country I think is very important because it opens your horizons, it radically changes your way of thinking, I was motivated to learn new things for my profession as well as for me as a person and to meet new people.

Why did you decide to study in that country?

I decided to come to Chile because I had never traveled to South America, the school with which the Uni has an agreement is very good and I had friends who had come and they recommended it to me.

How did you feel when you arrived in the new country?

I was nervous because I had never been alone before but it was an incredible experience from the moment I was on the plane to here, I was very happy and excited.

How have you been received at the university where you arrived?

I was received in an incredible way, the Universidad Mayor picked me up at the airport where I met several exchange students who arrived close to the time I arrived, they left us outside the address where we were going and from the beginning they treated us like at home because the whole group of international relations supports you in whatever you need. In the welcome they unite all the students and explain everything we need.

What will you miss most about Mexico?

What I miss most about Mexico is the food because it is very different but you get used to it and learn to adapt to what is there.

What about the Uni?

The study system is very different from the way the students are treated to the way they are graded and what I miss the most about the Uni is that they spoil us a lot.

What is the most exciting thing you have experienced so far in this experience?

Meeting new people that you never imagined that at the end of the day they become your family, they teach you a totally different culture, a new language, ideas and then it's amazing all the experiences you have with them.

And the hardest part?

The hardest thing is being away from home because you are used to being close to your family, your parents are close and you count on them for everything, being far away you know that the family supports you but you have to do everything yourself from a simple meal to taking care of yourself and going to the doctor by yourself when you feel very bad.

What do you expect as a person and as a professional from this program?

I really liked the program because you learn in an impressive way.

Do you recommend these opportunities provided by Uni to your colleagues?

The exchange offered by the university I highly recommend it because it is truly an opportunity that you will probably never have again, you meet people who become very important in your life, a culture different from yours, you see life differently and I think the experience gives you a lot, both professionally and personally, you become independent and begin to face life on your own. You realize many things that being in your comfort zone you cannot appreciate. Personally, I would repeat the experience.

Understanding the responsibility of parenting.

For the Selected Topics in Biology 1 course taught by Dr. Gabriela Guerrero from Prepa Uni, three students tell us about their experience in a project to raise awareness among young people about pregnancy and contraceptive methods. In turn, this activity is also part of another project that consists of making an estimated cost comparison between how much it costs to buy contraceptive methods for a year and how much it costs from conception to the maintenance of a baby for the same period of time.

One of the teams that had already had the experience approximately three months ago with this project was formed by Julio and Renata, who gave us the opportunity to work on this project.for a period of three days, they were assigned to the a baby robot that, by means of sensors, simulates the various attentions required by a baby. newborns; such as the constant need for diaper changes, medications for fever or colic, feeding every few hours, waking up approximately every hour at night, among others.. Students commented on their experience What took turns with the baby during the three days so that they could appreciate the great responsibility and time it required when they lulled him to sleep, when he suddenly started to cry and they had to find out why, or he woke them up approximately seven times a night; concluding that based on this they could really become aware of the risks involved in having unprotected sex and making a written report based on what they experienced.

Another student who also went through this experience but in a much more acute way was Adam, who due to circumstances outside his team was forced to carry out the project as a "single parent", so that after spending the first night with the baby, he believes that this experience represents only about 30% of what being a parent really entails.

To carry out this project, two of these babies were brought from Monterrey specially designed for this type of project. These babies have characteristics and textures very similar to those of a normal baby, as well as a sensor box inside their clothes that controls each of their needs, which are satisfied through a pacifier, diapers and a bottle that are previously given to the students.

An incredible experience that we should all live
