When you entered Uni did you know there were international programs?

Did you think you would go to live and study abroad?

Have you ever lived or studied outside of Mexico before?

No, no había tenido la oportunidad.

What prompted or motivated you to study in another country?

Why did you decide to study in that country?

How did you feel when you arrived in the new country?

How have you been received at the university where you arrived?

What about the Uni?

What is the most exciting thing you have experienced so far in this experience?

And the hardest part?

What do you expect as a person and as a professional from this program?

Do you recommend these opportunities provided by Uni to your colleagues?

An experience I wouldn't trade for anything!!!!

An experience I wouldn't trade for anything!!!!

Interview with María José Guadalupe Hernández, psychology student with a scholarship in Colombia.

When you entered Uni did you know there were international programs?
Yes, in the induction talk I learned about the international programs that the University had in place.

Did you think you would go live and study abroad in your first semester?
No, at the beginning of my studies, an academic exchange was not in my plans.

Have you ever lived or studied outside of Mexico before?
No, it was the first time I would study in another country. I only had the opportunity in my first semester to attend a congress in Cuba.

What prompted or motivated you to study in another country?
Getting to know the culture of another country and creating new friendships with people from different countries, as well as the challenge of having to adapt to a different country all by myself, motivated me.

Why did you decide to study in that country?
For years one of my dreams was to know Colombia, I have always liked its accent, and the little I knew about the country made me want to be here someday. Once I realized that among the options that Psychology had as an international program was Colombia, I did not hesitate twice that it was the country I wanted to go to.

How did you feel when you arrived in the new country?
When I stepped on the land of the paisas I felt a stir of emotions inside me, I was making my dream come true. I will not say it was easy to adapt to the change, I was in another country, with another currency, with words that have another meaning, but nevertheless my desire to eat Medellin was still there intact or better yet, had increased.

How have you been received at the university where you arrived?
Everyone has been friendly and helpful, always giving equal treatment to both national and international students.

What will you miss most about Mexico?
Everything! Food is one of the things I have missed the most, as I have missed the tortilla, the spicy food and the gastronomic variety we have. As well as my family, because I am a homebody.

What about the Uni?
My friends have been missing in the classes and projects I have been involved in.

What is the most exciting thing you have experienced so far in this experience?
Each experience I have had here has been special, since each of them has helped me to grow personally, but one of the ones that has marked me the most and that the university has given me the opportunity to live, has been to participate in a social project with displaced people since I was able to know the other side of Colombia, the one that is more human, the one that is not shown in photos, and that has helped me to broaden my vision and value life even more.

And the hardest part?
One of the hardest things in this exchange has been being away from my family when loved ones who are very important people in my life have passed away and I have not been there to say goodbye, but being away has generated a greater strength in me, and I know that each of the difficulties that have come my way have helped me to be more resilient.

What do you expect as a person and as a professional from this program?
Being here has fulfilled all the expectations I had, since each one of the professors has been part of the intellectual enrichment, because I have a broader work vision and they increased my academic resources. On a personal level I have grown a lot, it has helped me to be more tolerant and flexible, I have created bonds of friendship, I have gotten to know the way of thinking of each one of them and above all this program has made me mature.

Do you recommend these opportunities provided by Uni to your colleagues?
Without hesitation I would recommend to all my classmates to take advantage of the international programs offered by the Uni. Even with difficulties, it is an experience that I wouldn't change for anything!

Thank you very much Uni!

Thank you very much Uni!

Interview with Heliodoro Flores Neri, student of the Bachelor in Tourism with Uni scholarship to study in Brazil.

When you entered Uni did you know there were international programs?
Yes, in fact it was one of the reasons why I decided to study here.

Did you think you would go live and study abroad in your first semester?
No, it's really a dream, I knew I wanted to do one but it was a long term goal, I never imagined that on my first attempt I would achieve it.

Have you ever lived or studied outside of Mexico before?
No, it is never the first time I travel outside my country.

What prompted or motivated you to study in another country?
The fact of learning about a different culture, living that experience and therefore learning in a different educational system, I like challenges and I also wanted to learn a new language.

Why did you decide to study in that country?
Because of the language and cultural diversity, I wanted to be in direct contact with Brazilian culture.

How did you feel when you arrived in the new country?
It was an indescribable feeling because it was not only one but several, it was a kind of excitement, happiness, curiosity, fear, joy, uncertainty, among others, I certainly can not express that feeling. It was simply incredible.

How have you been received at the university where you arrived?
The academic mobility people are very warm, they care about us, they are attentive and support us, they are not just another institutional authority, they become a kind of friends and support in that country.

What will you miss most about Mexico?
There are too many things that are missed, such as family, friends, food and some material things, however, being away the important thing is not what you have or had, but what you can get to do, know and learn.

What about the Uni?
My friends, teachers and some classes, despite also being an American country, have some contrasts in the system.

What is the most exciting thing you have lived so far in this experience? It is difficult, there have been so many moments, however the fact of living with people from more than 10 different countries and even making them your new family, is something that I will certainly never forget, because the effort of everyone trying to communicate in the same language is crazy when the knowledge of this is short, it is certainly the best thing that has happened to me because I made friendships for life.

And the hardest part?
Difficult question, however I think that something that marked my life forever was my arrival to the country, since it was quite an adventure to make my first trip out of Mexico, alone, without knowing the local language, hungry, sleepy and a series of moments that at the end of the day are funny.

What do you expect as a person and as a professional from this program?
Undoubtedly, this type of program broadens our cultural, personal and professional horizons, making us more responsible and empathetic people, two of the factors that the world of work demands today.

Do you recommend these opportunities provided by Uni to your colleagues?
Of course, these are unique opportunities that are within everyone's reach, with a little effort everything can be achieved.

Thank you very much UNI!

Thanks to UNI for this great opportunity!

Interview with Ambar Paola Pesquera, Industrial Engineering exchange student at Universidad Mayor de Chile.

When you entered Uni did you know there were international programs?
Yes, it was one of the many reasons I decided to study there.

Did you think you would go live and study abroad in your first semester?
Not in my first semester, I knew I would have to meet certain requirements before I could apply for the scholarship and I decided to work on that so that when I wanted to go on exchange things would come on their own.

Have you ever lived or studied outside of Mexico before?
No, not at all.

What prompted or motivated you to study in another country?
Getting out of your comfort zone was what motivated me to apply for the scholarship, test my knowledge and acquire a lot more.

Why did you decide to study in that country?
Because of the level of education in Chile, I was very interested in testing myself in a country where education is so different that it requires a complete change of mentality.

How did you feel when you arrived in the new country?
At first it was a culture shock, although it is a Latin American country Chile has many European touches both in culture and society, I arrived with an open mind and willing to adapt, it was when I learned to understand the people and from the first day I enjoyed my exchange.

How have you been received at the university where you arrived?
Extremely well, the people are very intelligent, educated and attentive to everyone who comes on exchange. If you have doubts or problems you will always find people who want to help you, the university creates a safe environment where you don't feel so far from home.

What will you miss most about Mexico?
Many will say the food, but what you resent the most is the family and friends, it is a clash of emotions because you are so happy to be in another country meeting new people that you don't want to leave but at the same time you miss your friends and family in Mexico.

What about the Uni?
They are not only my classmates, they became my friends and it is not the same to go to the classroom and not see them all there.

What is the most exciting thing you have experienced so far in this experience?
Traveling, I have known the entire Chilean territory, as well as Peru and Argentina, for me traveling has been changing my mentality and realizing the beauty of the world and its people.

And the hardest part?
I had to change the habits I had from Mexico, I had to change my way of studying and more than learning the concepts by heart I had to understand what I was doing because the exams in Chile are more applied to real life.

What do you expect as a person and as a professional from this program?
I hope that the training I am having will have a positive impact on my life, I have acquired knowledge from my subjects that I would never have thought of and that I have been applying in my work, I have met new people that I will continue to meet in the future and above all I hope that this is not the last exchange experience and that many more will come.

Do you recommend these opportunities provided by Uni to your colleagues?
Widely, I really believe that everyone should go on an exchange at least once in their life, it strengthens your character and makes you more independent as a person, plus you really enjoy the process.

Thanks to UNI for this great opportunity!

Teachers abroad.

Thanks to the University of Celaya, this summer I had the opportunity to travel to Medellin Colombia to participate in the seminar of Dr. Heine Klause: "Construction, management and marketing for luxury brands". Heine Klause: "Construction, management and marketing for luxury brands", which has had a great impact on my perception since it has broken several of my paradigms by expanding my vision regarding the complexity and multidisciplinary nature of marketing, design, communication, statistics, time, money and energy that big brands currently invest to build and position not only their products, but an entire ideology and way of life around their brand.

Being in another country for a week learning about the culture and customs and learning about current issues directly from an international expert on the subject allowed me to enrich myself personally and professionally. In addition to strengthening the bonds of collaboration between teachers from various countries for research in order to promote collaborative work among students from multiple institutions to strengthen their learning with a global vision.

Currently, sharing with my students the topics covered during the course has been very enriching as it has allowed me to expand and share learning inside and outside the classroom, providing my students and fellow teachers with a global and cutting-edge perspective on construction, management and international marketing issues.

An experience I wouldn't trade for anything!!!!
