Victoria Mendoza studied last semester at South China Business College, as part of the international scholarship program of the Uni and was recognized as an outstanding student, here she tells us about her experience:
- I will start by saying that it has been one of the best experiences in my life, I found maximum happiness, to the point of even feeling that it was a dream, and indeed it was a dream come true.
I can't deny that there were moments of despair, especially at the beginning and especially with the language, but it was those moments that pushed me to be a better student and above all a better person, it was a matter of adaptation, and not to be left behind, something like survival.
I learned so much!
I learned at least one different thing a day, every day; a word in Chinese or even in English, I learned the constancy and dedication of the Chinese in relation to study, I learned from them also to be helpful and always give the best of myself to others no matter who it is, or ask for absolutely nothing in return.
I even learned Kung Fu, I joined the team because I had the image that this sport is very significant in China, and especially because the official image is Bruce Lee, he is quite a character!
All these activities that I did led the school to award me as an outstanding foreign student, a recognition that took me by surprise, and that made me feel very proud of myself, since it was a big challenge in the academic, cultural, personal, and family aspects.
There is no way I want to keep this experience to myself, I want to tell everyone how incredible it was, and all that I know. Now upon my return I want to make a change in myself and the people around me.
I thank the school that gave me the opportunity to spend a semester in another country, count on my thousands of grains of sand to make this world a better place.

In order to encourage students to become entrepreneurs and give them the tools and fundamentals for the creation of their own business, the TrepCamp workshop began, a highly recognized program among various entrepreneurs and companies that through four cars train students organized in teams.
Through the various individual and team dynamics that were handled during the workshop, the students had the opportunity to share with each other through integration exercises where they discussed their dreams and business ideas; in this way they were able to appreciate the areas of opportunity that exist to carry them out and enrich their ideas. Afterwards, they presented to the group how they visualize themselves in the short, medium and long term, they drew pictures of themselves, they drew their role models and what would be the steps to reach a similar trajectory.
Through different audiovisual examples and didactic materials such as magazines and LEGO pieces, the coaches presented the students with a futuristic scenario in which they could visualize the steps to fulfill their dreams.
This is the first stage of the training for entrepreneurs, during the following stages the young people will develop their business plans to a level that will give them the opportunity to undergo training in the United States to complete the process.

With the presence of rectors and officials from 14 Cuban universities and heads and representatives of 21 Mexican Higher Education Institutions (HEI), the University of Celaya participated in the biannual meeting of Rectors Mexico-Cuba Summit on February 13 and 14 in the city of Guanajuato.
This event is developed in collaboration with the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES), the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba and the Cuban Embassy in Mexico.
For our Rector, Dr. Martha Aguilar Trejo, this is a meeting that follows the line of international collaboration of the University of Celaya where there is a dialogue that allows the creation of strategic academic alliances to generate projects between institutions that contribute to the development of our students and our environment.
"Meetings like this one are fundamental to highlight the enormous effort that universities make in the generation of knowledge, understanding, cooperation, joint work, innovation and concrete strategies that solve problems from the local level but with a global vision; at the University of Celaya we are leaders in these issues and we are very committed to an international project of education, research and training," said our Rector.
For his part, the Executive Secretary General of ANUIES, Jaime Valls Esponda, said that the Rectors' Summit is a space for analysis and exchange of opinions to make higher education the true lever for the development of nations and said that the relationship between the two countries is going through an excellent stage to strengthen binational collaboration.
