Jessi López studies law at Uni and obtained a scholarship to study for a semester at the Universidad Mayor de Chile.
When you entered Uni did you know there were international programs?
Yes, it was one of the reasons why I chose the University of Celaya.
When you entered your career, did you think you would go to live and study abroad?
The truth is that it was one of my objectives since I joined the company, and I am very happy to have achieved it.
Have you ever lived or studied outside of Mexico before?
No, it was my first time abroad.
What prompted or motivated you to study in another country?
Getting out of my comfort zone, getting to know another country, its culture, food, dealing with people from different parts of the world.
Why did you decide to study in that country?
Because I wanted something different from the basics, I didn't want the typical destination so I went to Latin America, where I discovered how wonderful it is.
How did you feel when you arrived in the new country?
I was very excited about what I was about to discover and nervous because at first I did not understand them very well and they speak Spanish, but no one warned me about the great variety of idioms that Chileans have.
How have you been received at the university where you arrived?
Very good, I arrived a few days earlier than expected, but they were very nice and immediately helped me with the basics about the city and were very friendly.
What will you miss most about Mexico?
What I missed most from Mexico was my family, friends and obviously the food, but after a few days you get used to the environment and culture, and during my exchange in Chile I met and made very good friends.
What about the Uni?
What I missed most about the university during my exchange were some of my professors, friends and the system I was already used to, so it was a challenge to adapt to theirs, but it was worth it.
What is the most exciting thing you have experienced so far in this experience?
The most exciting thing was to arrive in a Latin American country and get so much into its culture and be amazed with each of its landscapes that identifies them, because Chile is a country that preserves its nature.
And the hardest part?
The most difficult thing was to adapt to their climate and their language idioms, because I spoke Spanish I thought it would be easy and the same as in Mexico, however they have an infinite number of idioms and it is something that characterizes Chileans.
What do you expect as a person and as a professional from this program?
I will return with a very different perspective, more aware of what Mexico means to me, with more knowledge, experiences and greater ease to interact with the unknown, and give more value to Latin American countries that have much to highlight.

Yes, don't miss the opportunity and go out to live it, to know and get full of experiences and that no one has to tell you about them, everyone makes a different trip and is enriched in different ways, so for me it is one of the best experiences.
