As part of the commemoration of World Tourism Day, the students of the Bachelor's Degree in Tourism Strategy and Hospitality received Mr. Jonathan Casas León, a specialist in the field of airport and tourism disability.

The conference explained how companies and institutions have adapted services in airports, transportation systems, tourist sites, etc., so that people with disabilities can also enjoy the cultural, natural, social and technological wealth of our country.

In these times where almost 14% of the population suffers from some type of disability, it is necessary to raise awareness about how spaces should be adapted to all people and take advantage of this niche that can also be an excellent business.

Among the proposals that have been worked on to achieve this are the creation of works of art in relief to be touched in interactive museums; intelligent canes that guide tourists through spaces, wheelchairs that can be moved without physical effort, sound and Braille signs in the streets, tourist tours with specialized guides, etc. The options are as varied as creativity allows.

This conference reinforced the ideas that the students had previously developed with disabled youth in activities such as a tour of tourist sites in Celaya, a visit to a box factory and a cardboard workshop.
