Project description

As part of the joint effort for the development and positive impact on society and the educational community, the University of Celaya generated a fund for social development .in collaboration with the Guanajuato Business Foundation and FIDESSEG for the implementation of the project "Integral development of the children of Celaya.". With this project and with the investment raised, we will dThe Leading women in STEM and UNI PERAJ extracurricular educational programs will be continued and strengthened, focused on the promotion, development and teaching of science, technology, engineering, mathematics and the integral formation of basic education students in public schools and residents of priority areas in the municipality of Celaya.

It is worth mentioning that, as part of the commitments agreed between the University of Celaya, Fundación Empresarial Guanajuato and FIDESSEG, each girl and boy participating in the STEM and PERAJ programs who successfully complete these workshops starting with the 2023 generation and who meet the requested requirements, will be awarded a 50% scholarship to continue their higher education studies at the University of Celaya. This with the purpose of positively impacting the life and career plan of the children of Celaya and in congruence with the mission of the University. 

Project objectives

General Objective: To inspire and promote vocations in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics to children (students) of basic education in public schools and residents of priority areas, the knowledge and skills necessary to, in the future, perform in labor areas and / or entrepreneurship that contribute to the development of the state and in turn the country; and thus have an impact on the expansion of life expectancy and reduce educational backwardness.   

Specific objectives: 

1) To give continuity and strengthen after-school educational programs focused on science, technology, engineering, mathematics and comprehensive education for elementary school students from public schools and residents of priority areas of the municipality of Celaya, with the support of a community of volunteers: higher education students, teachers, collaborators and alumni. Most of the participating children are inhabitants of localities and/or neighborhoods located in high priority areas, including some of the public schools in the rural areas of Celaya.  

2) Strengthen the equipment of new state-of-the-art technologies to develop competencies in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and comprehensive education for children at an early age. Acquisition of a manufacturing cell.

3) Generate a training program in advanced production and operations techniques with intelligent technologies, to understand from an early age the behavior of organizations, people and assets. 

5) Replicating the knowledge acquired to more girls and boys in their communities and the next generations of UNI PERAJ and Leading Women in STEM.
