Nuestras vidas están compuestas por etapas, personas y momentos específicos. Cuando uno es pequeño la vida puede verse desde una perspectiva única en la que cada momento, cada cosa, cada persona, es un descubrimiento y donde muchas veces no entendemos lo que sucede a nuestro alrededor.  Conforme uno va creciendo va formando sus puntos de vista, su carácter, va seleccionando los valores que mejor lo representen y por supuesto, va aprendiendo de la vida y de quienes forman parte de esta. Este último punto es muy importante, aquellas personas que nos rodean tienen una fuerte influencia tanto positiva como negativa en nuestras vidas.

PERAJ es un programa nacional en el que jóvenes universitarios fungen como mentores y se convierten en un modelo positivo a seguir para las niñas y niños en condiciones vulnerables, apoyándolos y motivándolos para desarrollar su máximo potencial. 

La Universidad de Celaya ha implementado desde 2015 el programa “PERAJ Kids”. A lo largo de este proyecto estudiantes de la institución han cumplido con la extraordinaria labor como mentores apegándose a nuestro lema: La vida al servicio del bien común, acompañando a niñas y niños de quinto y sexto grado de primaria para mejorar tanto su aprendizaje escolar, como su sentido de vida.

This program promotes that the participating children receive support and learning from university students and teachers who teach them not only subjects related to their school education such as mathematics, Spanish and science, but also teach them about health care and those lessons that motivate them to continue improving as people. In this program phrases such as Self-confidence is the first step to success Or Focus on what you want to achieve and you will see the opportunities come. are those lessons that are sown in children at an early age so that in the future they will manifest themselves in a positive way in their lives.

Para nosotros es fundamental fomentar el espíritu de voluntariado en nuestros alumnos(as) teniendo siempre en mente que, si caminas solo, llegarás más rápido, pero si caminas acompañado llegarás más lejos. 

Benefits/achievements

1) As the main achievement obtained in this project, more than 80 elementary school children have obtained direct support and mentoring from undergraduate students of the University. 

2) The children participating in this program affirm that they will continue with the objective of pursuing their university education at the University of Celaya. 

3) Another of the achievements obtained in this project is the alignment with the benefits of the national PERAJ program, which has provided the children enrolled in the program with the following benefits emotional support, development of study habits, improvement in their academic performance, strengthening of their self-esteem and social skills, enrichment of their experiences and general culture, as well as greater visualization of their horizons and objectives.
