Mechatronics Engineering and Intelligent Systems

SEP Agreement No. 20190083

It Integrates the areas of mechanics, electronics, computer systems and control, whose objective is to provide better products, processes and systems. Mechatronics is not, therefore, a new branch of engineering, but a newly developed concept that emphasizes the need for integration and an intensive and intelligent interaction between different areas of engineering.

The term Mechatronics was conceived in 1969 by the Japanese Tetsuro Mori, who fused the word «mechanic» with «electronic» to describe a system during his stay at Yaskawa Electric Corporation.
